The compact multifunction measuring meter BD8M combines the functionality of three useful measuring instruments at the same time (laser distance meter, cross line laser, tape measure) and hence is recommended as mandatory equipment for both ambitious do-it-yourself enthusiasts and industrial users (e.g. architects, engineers, interior designers, craftsmen).

Easy measurement of distances, surfaces and circumferences

As a classic laser distance meter, the BD8M easily measures distances up to 40 m, surfaces as well as volumes in interior spaces. To ensure a maximum profitable use of material for renovation work, the precise calculation of floor, ceiling or wall surfaces is therefore a cinch for the laser distance meter. Furthermore, a Pythagoras function is integrated to carry out indirect laser measurements (e.g. measuring the height of walls or furniture).

Cross line laser and tape measure included

With this functionality, which would already mark the limit of many laser distance measuring devices’ application options, however, the potential of the BD8M is still far from exhausted. If required, an integrated cross line laser projects intensely bright laser lines on substrates, for instance to perfectly align drill holes, pictures, tiles, strips of wallpaper, wall cabinets or shelves. An integrated tape measure (5 m) with a practical retracting button, ideally suited for manual measurements in places that are difficult to access make the BD8M the unbeaten surveying professional in the craftwork and DIY sector.


The outstanding features of the measuring device, which weighs only 295 g, are completed by a practical hand strap and a belt clip integrated in the device housing.


With the BD8M, measurements and calculations of floor/wall surfaces and room volumes can be carried out especially smoothly. An integrated cross-line laser additionally facilitates the alignment of objects and drill holes.

Designed for rough applications on construction sites

Its robust housing makes the BD8M suitable for withstanding even adverse conditions on construction sites. A circumferential rubber coating in the form of slip-resistant softgrip inserts provides for a safe grip in all measuring positions and furthermore ensures enhanced fall protection.

Clear visibility of precise measurement results

The data determined via laser measurement are shown on the backlit multi-line display in clearly readable fashion and are additionally saved in the internal data memory (max. 20 measurements). Addition and subtraction of the measurement data can be carried out as well as continuous measurements with MIN/MAX function (stake-out function).

Follows your thoughts and switches off automatically when it’s not used

For a maximum operating time, the BD8M is provided with an intelligent automatic switch-off function that switches off the laser after 30 seconds and the whole device after 2 minutes fully automatically. This intelligent power saving function is especially helpful in the hectic daily construction site routine and makes the BD8M a cash cow among the distance measuring devices. The batteries required for operation (2 x 1.5 V AAA batteries) are already included in the scope of delivery.
